100 affordable housing units could be coming to Laurens Road

If approved, two buildings of affordable housing units could replace the structure that currently sits on the site of The Laurens Road Church of God.

The project would be entirely affordable housing.

After waiting years for tax credits to make the project feasible, the Laurens Road Church of God site could become a 100-unit affordable housing development called “The Alliance Project.”

The City of Greenville’s Planning Commission unanimously approved the plans by McMillan Pazdan Smith — which feature two four-story, multi-family buildings — on Tuesday, Jan. 7 (exactly three years after we first learned about the project).

The complex will serve residents making between 20% and 70% of the Area Median Income.
