Hey, GVL. Grace here. 👋 I’m here today to tell you about something that needs to be on your radar: Roper Mountain Science Center’s Laser Days Of Summer. Maybe you’re thinking, “Wait, I thought Roper Mountain Science Center was for kids?” Oh, my friend, that just isn’t the case.

We went to check out snippets of some of the laser shows in the center’s planetarium, and even though videos + pictures won’t do it justice, we’re going to share them with you so you can at least get a glimpse of this truly unique experience.

Here’s what went down – and why you should #TryThis.

Experience:

Roper Mountain Science Center’s Laser Days Of Summer

What we tried (with pricing):

We got to preview bits of three shows: Queen, Laser Beatles and Stranger Things. Tickets to one show are $8/person – or $4/person if you’re a member. This is a great summer activity for a date, outing with your friends or your family (recommended for ages 8+) that gets you out of the heat *and* is super affordable.

Roper Mountain Science Center is offering 11 different laser shows, including That 90’s Laser Show, Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon + more. All shows here.

Don’t miss:

The Queen show – they say this one is very close to selling out, so get your tickets ASAP.

If you visited one of the shows last year, expect this year to be bigger + better. For last year’s shows, the center used rented equipment but after the shows became so popular, Roper Mountain invested in new high-tech digital equipment to ensure the new shows would be even more spectacular.

What we are still talking about:

I’m a big fan of the show Stranger Things, so naturally, when I heard Roper Mountain was offering a Stranger Things show, I knew I had to see it. It did not disappoint. Check out this clip of the opening of the show here:

How you can experience this:

The shows run on Thursdays (6, 7:30 + 9 p.m.) and Fridays + Saturdays (4:30, 6, 7:30 + 9 p.m.) from July 18 through Aug. 3.

The shows are different each weekend, so be sure to check out the schedule on their website to make sure you get to go to the one(s) you’re most interested in. Tickets are only $8 per person or $4 for Roper Mountain Science Center members.
