Did you know that only ~51.8% of SC residents were born in the state? Recent transplants have moved en masse from New York, California, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Let’s face it, we all know someone who just moved to Greenville.

If you’re looking for ways to get your new friend connected, why not set them up with Newcomers Club of Greater Greenville?

What is it?

Newcomers Club of Greater Greenville is a membership-based club for folks who have lived in Greenville under two years. The main focus is finding friendship in a new city (although a few members have also made business connections).

How do you join?

First, you have to attend a meeting + dues are $40 annually. There’s no official application process, but they’ll ask some questions like when you moved here, how long have you lived here, your birthday, etc.

Once you’ve been a member for two years, you can mentor other newcomers. As long as you pay your dues, you can be a member for as long as you want.

What happens when you join?

The club hosts different activites + events throughout the year like:

  • Whiskey tastings
  • Book clubs
  • Mahjong
  • Pickleball
  • Hiking
  • Gardening
  • Needlework

Members also give back to the community by volunteering at community events like Fall for Greenville. They also host 50/50 raffles — keeping half the money and giving half away — to local non-profits at their meetings.

Some events are included in the cost of your membership, and some are a little extra..

Are your friends ready to join? They can follow the Instagram page + reach out to for more info.
