It’s official (and not an April Fools prank): Clemson University will start selling alcohol at the spring football game on Saturday, April 5.

Following the debut at Memorial Stadium, sales will begin at at McWhorter Stadium (softball) + Doug Kingsmore Stadium (baseball) starting the week of April 7.

There was speculation about if this change would affect Clemson’s unique re-entry policy, and — good news — it doesn’t.

It’s a break in tradition, as Clemson was one of three Power Four schools that didn’t sell alcohol or accept sponsorship revenue from alcoholic beverage advertisers. It was the only school in the ACC, SEC, or Big Ten.
