Greenville’s best bloody marys

I’ll be honest, the first time I heard what was in a Bloody Mary I wasn’t exactly dying to try it. However, I’ve since learned (after a stop at Sobelman’s in Milwaukee) that it’s an acquired taste... and actually really delicious. It’s basically a drink and a snack in one. 🍅 With that in mind, I wanted to share my semi-professional recommendations for the best bloody marys in Greenville.

My recommendations:

Taylors, SC

The Farehouse at Taylors Mill |📍250 Mill St., Taylors

Their Smokin’ Mary is for those of us who like some spice in life– green chile vodka, green pepper, fresh jalapeños and smoked green tomato. Like a more traditional Mary? Their FareMary features their traditional house mix and is equally appetizing. I encourage grabbing some beer cheese pretzels to really make it an experience.

Village of West Greenville

The Anchorage |📍586 Perry Ave.

While I love the Anchorage’s traditional Bloody Mary, I died and went to refreshing brunch drink heaven once I tried their Tiki Mary: tequila, tomatillo, lime and grapefruit shrub. Pro tip: After Sunday brunch, walk a few steps to the Village Grind for GB&D’s superb donuts.

Downtown Greenville

Ink N Ivy |📍21 E. Coffee St.

Although I recommend sitting at the bar and having their bartender make you his special Bloody (it’s devine), their downstairs bar is fully equipped for those who know just how they like it (featuring plenty of garnishes that you won’t have at home).

Soby’s |📍207 S. Main St.

We alllll know their brunch buffet is top notch, but so are their Bloody Marys (and are pretty easy on the bank account). You can choose from Zing-Zang mix or their spicier house mix (my favorite). If you’re into mimosas, you can customize your mimosa on paper and hand it off to your server. Think of all the different combinations. Nifty.

Yee-Haw Brewing |📍307 E. McBee Ave.

Don’t get the name twisted – it’s not all about beer. Yee-Haw knows how to crush the brunch game. Their Bloody Mary features a piece of bacon that is covered in some kind of goodness (I need that recipe, please).

“North Main” Greenville

The Bohemian |📍2b W. Stone Ave.

Their Bloody Mary bar looks like a Texas hot sauce outlet – featuring every flavor you can imagine. You can choose from their house made mix or the always popular Zing-Zang mix. They also have horseradish, in my humble opinion, a Bloody Mary necessity.

Cherrydale

Southern Culture |📍2537 N. Pleasantburg Dr.

The perfect pairing to those pimento cheese tots: a self-crafted Bloody Mary. Their savory house mix, pickles, jalapeños, pickled okra, cheeses + more.
