Big News: The Makers Co.'s annual Indie Craft Parade (Sept. 14 – 16) has grown too big for the Huguenot Loft + is moving to Southern Bleachery in Taylors Mill, which announced news of its own this morning.

DYK: Taylors is considered the Greenville/Spartanburg area’s largest suburb? It’s ~15 minutes from downtown Greenville and like much of the Upstate, Taylors kept all the charm from its former days as a mill town.

The Southern Bleachery and Print Works building in Taylors Mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 and is now home to a brewery, a yoga studio, plenty of artists + more.

If you love First Friday evenings (and you’ve been to all the GVL galleries a thousand times), stop by to chat with some artists who are in located in the mill: Joe’s Studio, Nathan Bertling, The James Pittman Gallery. It’s a massive building and easy to get lost, so we recommend taking a screenshot of this map + clicking below to plan out your trip.

P.S. Check out Upstate Community Darkroom’s soft opening in Taylors Mill tomorrow as part of First Friday.

Model Trains Station Enjoy 16,000 square feet of models trains (+ the main line train tracks of Norfolk Southern are just behind the building). Volunteers are needed to run trains, talk to visitors and run the register.

Appalachian Spirit Folk Instruments Have you ever heard the sound of a handcrafted zither? Bill Lacasse makes zithers in oak, cherry, poplar or pine that reflect the inspiration of the Appalachian spirit and last for generations.

13 Stripes Brewery | Print Works No. 3 Building of the Taylors Mill | Stop by to enjoy a beer at the bar, or grab a 6-pack to go. Check the website to see what’s on tap + their event calendar for some fun activities each week. Bonus: Their One Year Anniversary Party is coming up on May 13.

The Logos Theatre | 80 School Street | Since 2006, the Logos Theatre has been presenting high-quality and family-friendly productions. Don’t miss the Summer Camps and the Fourth Annual 1st Unit Film Camp (July 30- August 3). You can donate for the production “The Horse and His Boy,” which was announced in March 2019.

Olde Faithful’s Antique Mall | 3606 Wade Hampton Blvd | This place offers a trip back in time for vintage fans (clothes, pottery, etc…)

Whiskey’s Tavern | 3083-3099 Wade Hampton Blvd | Full bar and food menu every day of the week + karaoke 3-5 nights a week.

Roller Sports Taylors | 328 W. Main Street | DYK: One hour of skating burns up to 600 calories?

Coming soon: A new restaurant-community kitchen, The Farehouse, is expected to open this spring.

While we focus mainly on events going on in Greenville City, the Upstate has so much going on and we do love to explore.
