We’re donning our green jacket and stepping into the shoes of a champion with our very own Greenville-inspired Masters Champions Dinner.

Since 1952, the Masters champion has hosted a dinner the year after they win, featuring their favorite foods. This year’s menu by Rory McIlroy features items like bacon-wrapped dates, paying homage to his mom’s recipe, and yellowfin tuna carpaccio inspired by one of his favorite restaurants in New York, Le Barnardin.

Here are the local bites we’d choose for our menu:

Appetizer

Cheese Trio (featuring Whipped Ricotta from Jianna, Fried Goat Cheese Balls from The Lazy Goat, and Fried Green Tomatoes with Pimento Cheese from Woodside Bistro)

Honorable mention: Cheddar hushpuppies and seafood dip from Jones from The Jones Oyster Co.

First Course

Crispy Brussels Sprout Salad from The 05

Honorable mention: French Onion Soup from Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery

Main Course

Choice of: Shrimp and Grits from Soby’s or brisket from Lewis Barbecue

Honorable mention: Steak Frites from Scoundrel

Dessert

Sweet Potato Cake from Brick Street Cafe

Honorable mention: Ice cream flight from Clare’s Creamery

What would you pick? Tee up your choices.
