The Ville to Ville Craft Brew Relay is about to combine all of our favorite things. The running relay stretching from Asheville to Greenville will kick off its first year Saturday, April 14, with teams of six runners traveling 73 miles + benefitting two local food charities in the process.
The open roads course will hit a few brewery highlights along the way: runners start at Highland Brewing Co. in Asheville, then pass through Hendersonville, NC + Travelers Rest, SC with stops at Southern Appalachian Brewery and Swamp Rabbit Brewery. 🍻
Here’s how it will go down on Saturday:
- The first round of teams will take off running from Asheville at 5 a.m.
- Over the next few hours, more teams will begin the first of the race’s 12 legs (3 – 10 mi. each)
- Race vehicles will be picking up + dropping off runners along the route
- Teams will arrive in Greenville between 4 – 6 p.m.
When runners hit the finish line at The Commons (future site of Feed & Seed), 5 food trucks, live music by Randomonium, and The Community Tap serving up local craft beers + the Ville to Ville’s own brew (The Inaugural by Thomas Creek Brewery) will welcome them to the party. 🎉
Who else will be celebrating? Ville to Ville is all happening thanks to local people, and it’s giving back to two organizations who share their same love for the community:
- Feed & Seed, a Greenville venue in development that will provide distribution for local farmers, education about the food system + jobs for local neighborhoods.
- Food Connection, who works in Asheville to collect surplus food from restaurants + caterers and deliver it to those in need.
On race day, you can cheer from the sidelines or volunteer. And if you want to sign up for next year (this year’s race sold out in 54 hours), registration opens Monday.
