Greenville County Schools recently revised its long-range facilities plan. Here’s what GCS plans to update and change at local schools (and how much it will cost):

  • $62.2 million to demolish and replace the J. Harley Bonds Career Center
  • $21 million for robotic sweepers and scrubbers for school cleaning
  • $9.6 million to extend the car rider loops at Bethel Elementary, Bryson Elementary, Greenbrier Elementary, Skyland Elementary and Wade Hampton High School
  • $6 million to improve first responder radio communication
  • $5.7 million to upgrade stadium lighting systems with LED fixtures

Plus, construction on the new West Greenville High School has been accelerated by two years, with students expected in the halls by 2031.
