When it comes to summertime, S.C. never leaves us s(peach)less.

DYK that when it comes to peach production, S.C. comes in 2nd nationally behind California? And come on… they cover much more land. We produce more peaches than “the peach state”take that, Georgia.

I know at this time each year I’m on a quest to find the most plump + perfect peaches, but going to the grocery store can only get you so far. Why rely on other people to decide what peaches enter your home? Go out and pick your own peaches, GVL.

Produce always tastes sweeter when you pick it yourself, so here are six S.C. peach orchards that are an easy drive away. Pick your own sweet, spherical taste of summertime.

Beechwood Farms

While Beechwood Farms do have their own u-pick opportunities for various produce, the peaches are not u-pick. They are sold at most of the local farmers’ markets.

Strawberry Hill, USA

While taking a visit to The Shed isn’t exactly pickin’ peaches straight off the tree, farmers carefully select peaches to go on sale in this open-air peach stand. The Shed is a summertime tradition that was built in 1955 and just continues to get better with age.
