Pita House should give its social media manager a raise
If you’ve been scrolling Instagram, you’ve surely seen some incredibly sweet and heartwarming things on your feed, but have you seen anything that made you laugh out loud? City Editor Stephanie has.
While scrolling for news, she came across two posts from Pita House that literally made her LOL.
Starting off strong, we have this one where the chef is out on the street with a sign that says “Will work 4 falafel” while asking Grateful Brew if it’s hiring in the caption. They might have some competition though, The Creperia in Greer offered him a job in the comments.
Followed by this beauty, where the team is pretending they’re open amid the power outage so they can “stay sharp” for when they’re back in business. Sometimes you just have to laugh.
We love Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery
From losing power in the storm to having their generator stolen, Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery had plenty of reasons to pout in the aftermath of Helene, yet their social media has been filled with smiles and positivity + jokes that spread smiles and positivity.
If you need food, they’re working to replenish their stock. Here are the local goods they have:
- Beef from Trail Place Farms
- Milk from Milky Way Raw Milk
- A variety of bread from Travelers Baking Company
- Quiches made in the bakery
- Plus, Broadwater Shrimp will be there Friday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shop local to not only support this small business, but also support the local farms and businesses providing the stock.
Scout’s opened downtown proving we’re “Sweeter Together”
Scout’s Doughnuts was able to open its new downtown window (near the Chick-fil-A window on Main Street) and sold 520 doughnuts along with a whole latte Bridge City Coffee. They will be open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. every day this week.
Fosters showed up to clear the Greenville Humane Society kennels
When the Greenville Humane Society put out a need for fosters due to its power outage, 145 cats and dogs were moved into foster homes, clearing the kennels right after the storm. Another 68 cats and dogs were fostered on Tuesday, Oct. 1, leaving just 13 animals in the shelter. Way to go, Greenville.
