Award season is almost here, and the Grammys are on Sunday, Feb. 2. We asked you to nominate your favorite local musicians for a GVLtoday Music Award, and you showed up and showed out with 200+ responses. We rounded up the musicians with the most nominees, and here are the winners in no particular order:
Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra | With the mission of enriching the lives of Upstate residents, Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra offers outreach programs in addition to concerts to share their love of music with everyone.
Randomonium | This variety band is known for their high energy, song selection, and unexpected pairings.
The Brooks Dixon Band | Originally a solo artist, Brooks Dixon found his Americana sound and recorded his second EP after forming this band in 2016.
Marcus King | This Grammy-nominated artist got his start right here in Greenville and is known for his soul, country, and rock sound.
Adam Harris Thompson | With his soulful voice and trusty guitar, Harris Thompson has performed for crowds in both “bar stools and church pews.”
Second Nature | Catch a little bit of every style from this duo who plays current rock, blues, country, and pop music.
Mac Arnold and a Plate Full O’ Blues | An inductee into the South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame, Arnold’s gas can guitar is his signature.
Seven Year Witch | This rock group from Anderson has ~16,000 average monthly listens on Spotify.
Darby Wilcox | Mayor of Babetown, a “powerful community of babes,” Wilcox’s style has been called “heartbreaking” and “powerful.”
The Abby Elmore Band | This group blends indie pop and soulful rock for a chill but high-energy performance.
