It felt like we were finding out about a new development every day this past month and if you blinked (or missed a few newsletters because you were out on the lake), you may have missed it. So we gathered up all things development from July so that you have the answer when a friend asks you what’s going on with the building next door.

🏢 The renderings for the upcoming massive County Square development already wowed us, but now you can watch the video proposal from the developers that won the project (and see other proposals that weren’t chosen). 📹

🐶 Unleashed Dog Bar opened its space at 69 Rocky Slope Road on July 27, featuring an outdoor, fenced area connected to a warehouse where dogs are allowed to go off leash while owners sip beer or wine.

👝A new cafe/retail shop is coming to the North Main area (207 Wade Hampton Blvd) in the fall. The shop will be located near The Community Tap and is a collaboration between Methodical Coffee and the Landmark Project, Greenville’s art-forward, outdoor-oriented apparel brand.

🌮 Tacos & Mas will open a second location at 1757 Woodruff Rd, next to Aldi. No word on an open date just yet, so stay tuned. Even more tacos are coming (and we’re not mad).

🍹 El Thrifty, a new Mexican cantina and upscale gaming concept, is moving in this fall next to Swamp Rabbit Crossfit + Soul Yoga along the Swamp Rabbit Trail (📍25 Delano Dr.). They’ll offer authentic Mexican food, a coffee bar brewing locally-roasted Methodical coffee, cafe-style style work spaces + indoor/outdoor games: air hockey, shuffleboard, bocce ball + more

🏗New renderings of the Camperdown project at Main + Broad St. have been released, showing the 217 residential units that will be built alongside a hotel and office + retail space. 🛋 The 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments will average 1,016 sq. ft. and are expected to become available in early 2020.

🍖Moe’s Original Bar B Que is the first place to open in the Westone development (109 W. Stone Ave.). Cache & Company, a gift and home furnishing shop, has also opened in the Westone development. We especially love the Jocassee scented soy candle.

🏫 Fountain Inn High will be the first new high school created since Mauldin High in 1973 + will cost $57 million to build. Check out the rendering here.

🍻 The Eighth State Brewing Company is bringing a new spin on breweries: it’s a zymurgy project (meaning fermentation-focused, often used when discussing homebrew), and will use the Eight-Circuit Model of Consciousness as the philosophy behind its beer, food + atmosphere. Expect things like beer-cocktails + beer-slushees, a rotating art gallery, and live indie/electronic shows.

🛒 Harris Teeter off Augusta Street at Lewis Plaza is now open + it’s currently the only grocery store in that area – but it wasn’t always that way. Lewis Plaza was built in 1946 and was considered years ahead of its time with connected storefronts and adjacent apartments.

🍷Wellborn Winery in Travelers Rest is now open. What we love: This winery sources grapes, berries, and peaches from nearby growers + their tasting area is super cute and has plenty of patio seating.

🏠A new rental home development is in the works along West Butler Road next to the Greenville Woodworkers Guild in Mauldin. The single-story, two-bedroom units (with a two-car attached garage) are designed to appeal to young professionals without kids + seniors.

👗Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine leased space at 18 Augusta St. to women’s clothing boutique Copper Penny, who moved from 1922 Augusta St. to 233 N Main St. in 2017 before closing its doors. The Augusta Street retail space in the West End was previously leased to Amanda Henry’s Popcorn Parlor.

🧒A new childcare center is coming to Five Forks at 2825 Woodruff Rd. Adora Childcare will be located in the same shopping center as Lowes Foods, with focus on play-based learning, incorporating STEAM + a nature center.

🏢100 East apartments are now condos, offering studio, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom layout options. The condos have been newly-renovated, with granite counters + new floors. Amenities include rooftop pool (invite us over, please), same-level garage parking, gym memberships 24/7 – alllll just steps away from Main Street.

🏢A hotel proposed for downtown Clemson wants adults with special needs to fill 60% of jobs. The 72-room hotel would take over the current BB&T building on College Ave, with plans to open by summer of 2020.

🚒The historic fire station on Augusta St. (which is almost 70 years old) is getting too old to remain in use or cost-effectively renovate, so the city has approved a deal where a new fire station will be built yards away + a developer will take over and renovate the old property – with no word yet on what it could become. The old and new fire stations will be part of an upcoming development called Augusta @ Faris (separate from the strip mall development across the street with the same name).

💉Revived Aesthetics had its grand opening on July 19. The IV bar offers vitamin infusions to replenish your body with fluids, vitamins + minerals – perfect for athletes, those struggling to get over the flu, or if you’re feeling a little dehydrated after wine night.
