When you’re sitting in traffic on Woodruff, Augusta, Wade Hampton, or Pleastantburg, the City of Greenville has eyes on the congestion.

The new state-of-the-art Traffic Management Center inside the City of Greenville’s new Public Safety Complex on Halton Road is home to traffic engineers who stagger their shifts to keep an eye on commutes during the busiest times of day.

A wall of monitors features live feeds from 65 cameras along with live maps, and the engineers can adjust traffic signals in real-time to keep traffic flowing.

Does this sound familiar? We first told you about the news in 2023 as part of the City of Greenville’s Traffic Management System Master Plan.

What other offices have moved into the new Public Safety Complex?

  • Police, fire, and dispatch
  • Municipal court
  • Business license + building permits
