Hello, gourd-geous. Major changes are coming to the Greenville State Farmers Market, located at 1354 Rutherford Rd.

DP3 Architects — a local firm — is working with the South Carolina Department of Agriculture on a 17,000-sqft “comprehensive renovation” project.

The design was inspired by elements of the building’s original look when it opened in 1949 + aims to create a “more efficient layout.” Plus, it will feature new elements including:

  • A modern canopy entrance
  • Glass panel garage doors
  • Concrete benches for exterior seating
  • New lighting + ceiling fans
  • Transformed bathrooms
  • New plant stands for vendors

We won’t have to wait long to see the results because the project is expected to wrap up in November.
