What will Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport look like in 2040? It might seem like a long way away, but GSP is ahead of the game and already planning for the growth of the next 20 years.

According to GSP, their passenger activity has increased 109% over the last 10 years. Whoa. If that trend continues, they say they’ll need to make significant improvements to make sure they’re able to continue operating efficiently while still offering the best customer service possible.

So, what are the expected changes? Potential changes include:

  • 12 extra boarding gates
  • A new dedicated international arrivals area
  • An extra baggage claim
  • A new 1,500 space parking garage plus a consolidated rental car facility
  • Expanded roadways
  • Improved terminal curb front
  • More spacious waiting areas

We’re excited to see what the future holds, not to mention looking forward to flying out of GSP sometime again soon. ✈️
