The next time you’re walking down Main Street, stop into The Traveling Penny, a new shop opening next to Marble Slab in The West End.

Inside, you’ll find a charm bar, permanent jewelry (coming soon), a photo booth + other accessories.

How it works

Start by choosing your chain from the wall + selecting charms ranging from $5 to $12. The jewelry is mostly gold-plated with a small sterling silver section. For an additional cost, you can even make personalized charms. We opted for the GVLtoday logo.

There’s a separate charm bar for kids 10 and under. For $25 they can choose five colorful charms.

If you miss the opening, you can still try for a prize — it just won’t be free. | Video by GVLtoday

Grand opening celebration

The shop officially opens Sunday, April 13. As you walk in, you’ll be able to get a free prize from the gumball machine which could be a gift or a discount.

How well do you know your City Editors?

Can you identify which editor made which necklace? We had to blur an initial on one of them that would’ve given it away.
