John S. Warren, the founder + CEO of Greenville’s Lima One Capital, has filed for candidacy in the 2018 election for S.C. governor. He wants to take his skills from capital to Capitol.
In an official announcement on warrenforgovernor.com, Warren says his goal as governor would be to use his focus + drive to “clean up Columbia.” He’s an experienced leader: specialty mortgage finance company Lima One Capital is active in 40 states, has over 80 employees + was named the Fastest Growing Company in S.C. in 2014.
He’s also a military veteran, having served four years on active duty as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, leading over 300 combat missions in total.
Warren has “filed to explore a run for the Republican nomination for governor” + plans to join incumbent Gov. Henry McMaster, Lt. Gov. Kevin Bryant, Catherine Templeton, and former Lt. Gov. Yancey McGill as a GOP candidate. The gubernatorial election is set for Nov. 6, 2018.
