The Reedy River running through our downtown is one of Greenville’s most iconic identifiers.

It’s not just iconic in the Upstate, or even South Carolina. It’s iconic in the country, at least according to Fodor’s Travel. Greenville ranks No. 9 on their list of The 15 Best River Walks in the United States.

Our own river walk ranks among the Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland, Oregon; the Chicago Riverwalk in Chicago, Illinois; Reno’s RiverWalk District in Reno, Nevada; and the Napa Riverfront in Napa, Californiajust to name a few.

What’s special about our river walk that adds us to the list? RiverPlace is usually surrounded by live music, good food, and outdoor art, and these are “just a few of the standout attractions” according to the list.

The article recommends stopping by Papi’s Tacos for a traveling’ taco,” checking out the Art Crossing, and highlights Up on the Roof and The Lazy Goat as “fan-favorite eateries.” We can’t say we disagree.
