The Greenville ONE Center

You might remember some debate in 2016 over whether a new conference + convention center could be coming to downtown Greenville. Now we know: the answer is yes.

The Greenville ONE Center will be on the second + third floors of the ONE building downtown. Inside, you’ll find 36,000 sq. ft. of Class A+ meeting space (including multiple meeting rooms), a 274-seat auditorium, breakout rooms, and a catering kitchen + cafe.

Back in 2016, the City of Greenville + Greenville County split the $74,000 cost of a feasibility study with VisitGreenvilleSC. After five months, Chicago-based consulting firm Hunden Strategic Partners concluded that finding a location for a downtown convention center would be too time-consuming + costly. An early RFP sought 200,000 sq. ft. of space + would have required the sale of the TD Convention Center to fund it.

But then ONE came into the picture. With three development phases + several floors of ready-to-move-in office space, the multi-use hub right on Main St became the perfect spot. No construction, no problem. 🏢

The original thought was for the Greenville One Center (GOC) to be a training center. Much of that concept has remained: as a niche conference center, the goal of GOC is to foster innovation + new ways of collaborating for Greenville business.

We were lucky enough to tour the GOC ourselves – it features high-tech tools in powered by SCI Electronics, Inc. and curated spaces for any kind of meeting, conference, social event or training session you could imagine. There’s an on-site production staff + catering (less stressful planning for you) + one-on-one booths for lowkey meetings.

Not to mention that this could be a huge boost for Greenville’s economy. Having a unique space like this downtown is (another) huge selling point for the Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce + city planners.

Here are a few more shots of the space:
