A celebrity chef is headed to Greenville for this year’s euphoria, taking place Thursday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 22. Let’s play a game of Guess Who. We’ll give five fun facts to help you figure out who it is. Scroll slowly.

The clues

  1. He is a regional James Beard Award winner, known for his mastery of Creole and Cajun cuisine + his self-developed “New New Orleans” style.
  2. His skills as a percussionist earned him a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music, but he chose to chase his dreams of becoming a chef by attending Johnson & Wales University.
  3. He contributed several recipes to the International Space Station as part of NASA’s efforts to improve the quality of the food supply for astronauts.
  4. In addition to hosting many of his own shows, he was one of sixteen chefs featured in the 1993 Julia Child series “Cooking with Master Chefs.”
  5. If you haven’t figured it out by now, his signature catchphrase is “BAM!”

And the mystery chef is…

TV personality and Chef Emeril Lagasse — known for his long-running Food Network shows “Emeril Live” and “Essence of Emeril” — will be taking over the Avenue kitchen on Friday, Sept. 20.
