Chef Nico Abello’s fine dining concept with Table 301 will open this year

Sharing the space we currently know as The Lazy Goat, the intimate restaurant will feature a chef’s tasting menu from the chef that opened Michelin-starred L’Appart.

After years of planning, Table 301 will open a new fine dining restaurant this year with Chef Nico Abello.

The yet-to-be-named restaurant will take over the top floor of The Lazy Goat, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Reedy River. Don’t worry, The Lazy Goat isn’t going anywhere. The intimate, 50-seat eatery will go in the space currently used for private events.

The Lazy Goat will remain open during the construction of the new restaurant but may close for a short time this summer for interior updates + a kitchen renovation.

Abello says the menu at his restaurant will always change to give diners new experiences.

Finding the perfect space took time, and Abello tells us the size of the restaurant was the element he cared about the most.

“We don’t want it to be too big,” he explained. “I want the kitchen to be completely open to the dining room, with the customers having interaction with the chefs.”

What else can diners expect? He says great food, a tasting menu, and wine pairings.

“We don’t want to be too stuffy. We want something relaxed where people can feel like they can come to enjoy food and wine with an excellent level of service but very approachable for people of every age.”

Abello — who has an impressive resume — opened L’Appart in Manhattan’s Le District in 2016. He was awarded a Michelin star for six consecutive years.

You don’t have to wait for the new restaurant to get a taste. In addition to the intimate dinners he hosts in The Loft at Soby’s, he will soon team up with five local chefs for a collaborative dinner series:
