It’s been 15 years since Jack Black taught a group of prep school kids how to “get the Led out” in School of Rock — now you can see the Battle of the Bands in person at the Peace Center this week.

The performance has added 14 new songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, but you wouldn’t exactly call this musical theatre. The child actors rock out to all the original songs from the movie + perform as the first kids’ rock band band live on stage. This is the perfect activity for kids on winter break… although they’ll probably want an electric guitar afterward.

The show runs from Dec. 5 — 10 (find tickets here). In partnership with The Music Club of Greenville, the Peace Center is collecting new and used instruments until Dec. 10 to donate to students at local schools so their musical dreams can become reality. Drop them off at the Peace Center box office.
