TEDx, meet Unity Park. The Upstart Initiative — an organization aimed at “fostering innovation, knowledge-sharing, and community growth in the Upstate of SC” — is bringing TEDxUnityPark to Greenville next month with a theme of “movement.”

What is TEDx?

TEDx is a local TED Talk (think: a presentation given by a leader in their field).

What’s the purpose?

The Upstart Initiative hopes to start a conversation among young entrepreneurs in the area that will “move” the community forward.

Why Unity Park?

According to Evan Rogers — Chief Marketing Officer of The Upstart Initiative — several local locations were submitted and the TED commission chose Unity Park because it saw the growth in West Greenville.

What can you expect if you attend?

The full list of speakers hasn’t been announced yet, but you’ll hear from 15 local business leaders, dine on a catered dinner, and stop by interactive booths.

When is it?

The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. Get tickets. Pro tip: GVLtoday readers get 30% off by using the code “TODAY30" at checkout.

Let’s get the conversation started, Greenville.
