Our latest installment of Invest Local — a series in which we’re shining a light on ways Greenvillians can invest their time, talent, and treasure, locally — showcases Compo Hotels.

Currently operating at The Station, located at 745 Old Buncombe Rd., the ~6.5-acre property sits in the heart of Travelers Rest, adjacent to the bustling Swamp Rabbit Trail.

The “proof of concept”

The Station opened the Wedge Cottages in 2022 as a “proof of concept.” This soft launch has allowed The Station the opportunity to refine operations, establish community partnerships, and create strategic marketing plans that focus on long-term development goals.

The property currently features eight comfortable and thoughtfully-designed wedge cottages, along with patios and a courtyard for gathering with fellow adventure seekers.

The vision

From creative, cozy lodging to customized adventure planning, Compo Hotels is crafting a one-of-a-kind hospitality experience.

Here’s a peek at their plan to create a world-class luxury destination:

  • Added lodging, including:
    • 16 suites
    • Four treehouses
  • Food + event spaces, including:
    • 5,500-sqft food hall with restaurant spaces for lease
    • 3,000-sqft indoor event space with full-service catering facilities
    • 1,500-sqft indoor/outdoor barn for special events
  • Enhanced services, including:
    • Welcome area with a staffed lobby to greet guests and event attendees
    • Basement facility equipped with office, laundry, housekeeping, and bicycle storage areas
    • “Adventure Concierge” who will create personalized experiences for guests (think: local adventures + activities that promote deeper connection with nature, themselves, and the community)
