It was an honor to help judge the Greenville County School District Career Center Culinary Competition. Frankly, I was blown away by the dishes produced by these high school seniors. The oh-so-winning dish was served by the Enoree Career Center Team: Thai Red Curry with Salmon and Vegetables with brown rice. The judging panel COULD NOT stop eating this perfectly executed entrée. It was craveable in all the right ways, savory and filling and fresh.

Did you know that many of our Greenville County High Schools have career centers (and culinary arts is just one of the programs offered)? These teenagers really knew their way around a commercial kitchen and their knife skills, organizational planning and cleanliness were on point. Best of all, the dishes in the culinary competition will all be incorporated into school lunch menus this year.

If you want to follow a seriously fun Instagram account check out # SchoolFoodRocks. It’s Joe Urban’s account, the Director of GCS Food And Nutrition Services. He’s on a mission to reinvent school food and is a national trailblazer in his field.

Congratulations Team Enoree
