Tips on adding tea as part of a healthy lifestyle

First, herbal teas are beverages created through decoction or infusion of plant matter, spices, and herbs. In order to pull them out, hot water is used to prepare before drinking them. They can be served hot or cold, though.

The best teas are made of the most beneficial herbs, including herbalene, red clover, and Indian sage. Some of them also contain burdock that helps in blood purification and preventing tumor growth. Others also have cayenne that balances and strengthens a weak immune system.

There are two common methods of preparing teas. Steeping is one method of making a tea. Here, you just have to steep the herbs between 2 and 15 minutes.

Another technique of preparing tea is decoction that involves mashing barks, roots or stems before boiling to extract the oils. For another 20 minutes or so, the tea is simmered before straining and drinking.

Stress reduction

Herbal teas can lower stress hormone levels, particularly cortisol. So if you want a calmer brain and body, you should make drinking tea as a part of your daily diet.

Heart attack and stroke prevention

Drinking between one and three cups of green tea daily can reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. It does it by lowering the body’s inflammation levels.

Studies had it that it can also lower bad cholesterol or LDL levels. Based on a study, participants who drank more than five cups daily had lowered their risk of death from a stroke or heart attack by up to 26%.

Anti-inflammatory

Lower levels of inflammatory reactions and inflammation is another benefit of drinking tea daily. Inflammation is associated with different diseases, including depression, metabolic syndrome and arthritis. Lowering inflammation, teas can reduce your risks of these modern ailments.

Digestion aid

Teas can help in digestion. One is ginger tea, which can curb vomiting and nausea.

Increased concentration, focus, and memory

Drinking tea can help improve the brain’s memory and reaction time as well as increase concentration and focus just like how the monks experience that when meditating.

Cognitive impairment prevention

Drinking at least two cups can lower your risk of cognitive impairment by half based on a study conducted among Japanese adults.

Final Thoughts

Herbal teas offer plenty of benefits especially when taken up to three cups or more daily. Making it a part of your lifestyle will greatly improve your health for its anti-inflammatory, anti-stress and anti-tumor properties, to name some.
