When we found out there were plans to redevelop the corner of Main St. + E Curtis St., we both said “do you remember that adorable kids’ thrift shop?” Simpsonville has its own charm, but what is it missing?

We asked you in Tuesday’s newsletter what restaurant or businesses you think should go in the planned Burdette Central. Here are some responses that we’d definitely support:

“Downtown Simpsonville needs a nice, sit-down restaurant, not a national chain.” Leo N.

The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar!” Stephanie K.

“We’d love to see a salad place like Verde in Charleston.” Katie R.

Noodle and Company.Angel S.

Antique and art shops are what fits the community.” Sylvia L.

“As a remote employee, I’d love to see that 2nd story “office space” developed as a co-working space. It’d be super neat if the folks at Atlas Local could obtain at least some of that space and help create a community-driven workspace that brings remote workers together. If the developers haven’t considered this, I’d like to put my vote towards making it happen!” Aaron O.

Grill Marks!” Denise M.

Lou Malnati’s pizza - now, that is real pizza. Still trying to find a good one here.” – William R.

Greenfield’s Bagels would be awesome to have in Simpsonville! Or a local brewery (you can never have too many).” Cara M.

Tropical Grille (so it’s closer than Mauldin or Woodruff Rd) or a Jeni’s Ice Cream.” Katie R.

“A fitness studio/yoga studio would be great! Sip coffee/tea, workout, start your day!” Mary Jo O.

Ice cream!! And vegan ice cream!!”Beth M.

“A great burger place.” Joyce D.

Axe throwing.”Gisella L.

“A unique breakfast or diner-style restaurant.”Beth B.

Willy Taco...fun local concept/people, fresh, chef inspired tacos & oh yeah, KILLER margaritas!”William B.

Fire Forge!!” Adam C.

“A bakery, a florist, a gift shop.” Carolynn D.

“A good Italian restaurant or maybe something like Bonefish Grill.” Gretchen M.

Vegan ice cream shop like The Hop in Asheville, NC.” Zaneta W.

“Would love to see a “curled” / rolled ice cream shop here in Simpsonville!” Steve B.

Mast General would be fantastic.” Anna F.

“A decent bar / possible brewery, there is absolutely no where to have a drink and chill in Five Forks or Simpsonville. Build it big, maybe even build two bc this is a way unserved need

A decent steakhouse like The Strip Club 104 in Greer.” – Brandon C.

Smoke on the Water. Jordan L.

“Simpsonville needs to up their game when it comes to quality. I would love to see a restaurant on par with Stella’s.” Shelly R.

Gastropub- a bar with a great menu and chef.”John M.

Bakery please!”Donna M.

“I would love to see a Pei Wei somewhere in our area!! I was addicted to it in Dallas and miss it so!!”Linda W.

“Simpsonville needs a fast-casual Italian restaurant for the Burdette Central development!”Nathan B.

“I would love to see an upscale men’s and women’s clothing store (i.e. Rush Wilson or Smith and James). A good burger joint is a must as well.”James K.

“All of us at 9Round Headquarters would love a good sandwich shop, a Chipotle, or a Chopt Salad Co.! Really anything good for lunch.” Logan W.

“I would like to see a shop to buy things for the home or maybe a hippie-type shop. Something that sells unique things.”Kathleen K.

Snow cones, dog bar/cafe, self-serve dog wash.” Andrea M.

Steakhouse like Justin’s that used to be in the space occupied by Shortfields.”Magda W.

Starbucks. They can fit in a small space and won’t compete with Sidewall. Green space will enhance the coffee sipping experience.” Russell H.

“We need a true Italian salumeria with fresh made mozzarella and fresh pastas, prosciutto, imported Iranian products.”Betty
