Hey, working parents: Meet your new best friend. The YMCA of Greenville’s School’s Out Special (S.O.S.) program offers all-day child care for K5-8th graders when school is out for fall break, teacher workdays or other select Greenville County School System holidays (like makeup snow days).

S.O.S. days are offered at the Caine Halter Y, the YMCA Program Center, the Eastside Y, YMCA Judson Community Center and the George L. Theisen Y – and children are not required to be enrolled in Y Afterschool or Day Camp programs in order to participate. It’s a win-win: The kids are accounted for (and entertained) and you don’t have to stress while you’re at work.

S.O.S. daily tuition costs are $30 per day for members and $45 per day for non-members. Registration is required and payment must be received in full at least one week prior to S.O.S. day. Financial assistance is available.

Upcoming snow makeup day S.O.S. dates:

  • March 20 | Registration open Sept. 1-Mar. 16
  • March 25 | Registration open Sept. 1-Mar. 17
  • April 10 | Registration open Sept. 1-Apr. 3
