Woven development in the Village of West Greenville, SC receives approval from City Council

Woven , a multi-use development in the Village of West Greenville, received final annexation approval from Greenville City Council this week — paving way for the development to break ground by the end of the year.

Plans for the property — located between Pendleton, Saco, and Traction Streets with Smith Street running up the center — were first unveiled in June 2022, moving to this week’s City Council agenda after months of revisions with the City’s Planning Commission and the Design Review Board Urban Panel.

The latest plans for 12 parcels of land include:

  • 214 multi-family units with 20% (44) of the units categorized as affordable housing
    • 9 units will at 80% AMI (average median income)
    • 26 units at 60% AMI
    • 9 units at 40% AMI
  • 30,000 sqft of commercial space for restaurants, retail, artist galleries, and other uses
  • 3,000 sqft of space dedicated to "representative retail” like start-up entrepreneurs and small business owners
  • 36 public parking spaces
  • A public park across from Saco Street to Traction Street featuring a relocated and restored historic Morgan House
  • Infrastructure improvements on Pendleton, Saco, Smith, and Traction Streets

    The approval came with amendments , including that any additional housing units added to Woven will be affordable housing. There are also requirements that developers meet with the community to discuss things like the building’s facade and signage.
