The holiday season can bring out a sense of goodwill and generosity in people, a.k.a. the holiday spirit. If you’ve been looking for ways to give back to your community, a great place to do that is at a local hospital.

The kindness and compassion of volunteers can provide comfort and help patients + families feel more at ease during a difficult time in their lives.

Some of the ways volunteers can help at Greenville Health System hospitals include …

🤝 Greeting visitors and answering questions at the front desk in hospitals or medical office buildings.

👪 Working in surgery waiting areas, helping family members receive updates on their loved ones, then connecting them with the patient once he or she is in a Recovery Room.

🏥 Stocking supplies at various locations in the hospital.

🎁 Helping visitors in the gift shop, putting up product displays and engaging visitors in conversation, which can help relieve their anxiety.

↘️ Providing registration assistance + helping with other clerical tasks, in addition to helping patients find where they’re going once they’ve registered.

💝 Visiting patients on certain units to offer comfort, care, and support.
