Virtual concert with Kylie Odetta

Kylie Odetta Concert

As concerts + most large scale events are still largely paused right now, we have a virtual event you can press play on tomorrow with Greenville native and soul + pop artist, Kylie Odetta. 🎤

Tune in with us on Facebook Live on Thursday night (May 28) at 7 p.m. to hear Kylie perform some original tunes, share her stories, and almost capture the magical experience that is live music. You will be able to access the concert from our Facebook page or Kylie’s.

In order to help y’all get to know Kylie a little better + get excited for our #AtHome concert on Thursday, we connected with her to find out a little bit more about her career as a musician + her experiences and favorites as a Greenville native.

What is the coolest thing that has ever happened to you during your career as a musician?

Oh man! The very first time someone came up to me after a show and told me my song “Promised Myself” described exactly how they felt and helped them get through a hard time was pretty special. I was 16 I think. From an “accomplishment” standpoint, I’ve gotten to open up for Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, Austin Mahone, and Corey Harper. I also went on tour as an independent artist through the United Kingdom when I was 20!

What is your dream venue that you would love to play?

I would love to play The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA.

Talk to us about being a musician in Greenville, SC.

I was born + raised in Greenville. I recorded my second CD at 13 in Edwin McCain’s studio that used to be in downtown Greenville and worked with his producer at the time, Noel Golden. B93.7 also really took me under their wing and gave me my first live radio show experience, and have supported me ever since! I got to perform at Freedom Weekend Aloft at age 15, headlined at Fall for Greenville a few years ago, and have always felt really supported by my local community.

Favorite place in Greenville to grab a coffee?

Coffee Underground.

Favorite place in Greenville to grab a meal?

This is tough…but I’m going to go with Saffron Indian Cuisine.

Favorite Greenville activity?

I love the TD Saturday Market, and I also love going to see improv and poetry at Alchemy Comedy Theater.

Be sure to RSVP for the event now to get a reminder before the show starts – and start preparing your song requests and questions for Kylie. Oh, and make sure to check out Kylie’s website + start listening to her music (if you’re not already), so you’re ready to sing along.
