When I first moved to Greenville, I remember thinking, “Wow…people bring their dogs everywhere they go.” Being originally from Memphis, this wasn’t something I saw on a daily basis. But when you visit Downtown Greenville, you’ll spot dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds joining their humans on a new adventure.

As a dog lover myself, I took it upon myself to discover places that my dog, Connor, could join me. Since my husband and I both enjoy visiting taprooms and breweries and experiencing new ales, ciders, and craft beers, I did a little research to see what taprooms and breweries are dog friendly.

Pour Taproom

With menu options from Gringo’s next door and dozens of drink choices, Pour is a great place to take yourself and your furry loved one! With various events such as live music, trivia night, and the occasional networking night, this taproom has a great environment for those who want to grab a quick drink or for others who might want to stay awhile. The staff is always very accommodating to pets, and they’ve brought out water dishes for my dog when I’ve visited! When I want to get Connor and myself out of the house for a trip Downtown, this is the place I enjoy!

The Community Tap

Since this joint is only three minutes away from my house, I visit frequently with Connor and my hubby. Dogs are allowed inside as well as on the porch, and the atmosphere is fun and light hearted! Whether you’re bringing Fido and your laptop to work or enjoying a drink after a long day at the office, this is a fabulous place to visit. Food trucks are available outside for a nice bite to eat, and their draft menu changes frequently so you can try new things every time. I personally love to visit Community Tap because the staff is so warm and always helps me pick out a nice drink. Plus Connor likes the free pretzels they give out.

Birds Fly South

As the warmer months sneak up on me, I realize how much I love Birds Fly South Ale Project! The wide open space gives a beautiful airy feeling, and the beer garden outside really give off a family friendly vibe. Connor enjoys sitting outside on the lawn and watching kids play corn hole while I sip my drink. Sometimes we venture over to White Duck Taco next door so I can grab a bite and he can munch on chips (tortilla chips are his weakness). Birds Fly South has many drinks to choose from, and their staff takes the time to talk to me about their menu as well as tell me all about how their business started.

So if you’re like me and enjoy getting your pup out of the house for a drink and snacks, visit these places! Greenville is the place for foodies and pet lovers alike to enjoy, and I know that my weekend is usually filled with both.
