ICYMI – the 15th Annual Beaufort International Film Festival took place in (you guessed it) Beaufort, SC over the weekend. You might be wondering why we’re talking about it? Well, three Greenvillians won top prizes in their categories during the festival, “A first for SC filmmakers,” according to festival organizer Ron Tucker of the Beaufort Film Society.

Out of 14 different categories featuring individuals from all over the country, only three of the winners were from South Carolina and all three of those were from Greenville. The rest hail from places you might traditionally think of when you think “Hollywood” like NYC, LA, and Chicago, but it’s safe to say we have some top talent living in our city. 👏

So, who won what?

Best Documentary (Feature): Invitation to the Dance directed by Sarah Shoemaker, Greenville, SC

Best Documentary (Short): ProDogTV, directed by Randall Owens, Greenville, SC

Best Director: Chris White, Greenville, SC (Electric Jesus)

Congrats to these locals for representing the Upstate and winning top prizes this weekend. 🎉
