Rick Erwin Dining Group is opening a new neighborhood restaurant + barThe Vista — in the Augusta Road area in late October.

Located at 2017 Augusta St. (formerly home to The Burrow), this new eatery’s name pays homage to the historic neighborhood that surrounds it: Alta Vista. The Vista will be similar to Rick Erwin’s other locations, Rick Erwin’s Eastside + Rick Erwin’s Clemson.

Here’s what Greenvillians can expect from the new concept:

The Talent

General Manager Adam Hester — who has 20+ years of hospitality industry experience with Greenville restaurants like Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack, and Soby’s — will be joined by Executive Chef Crawford Cambell. Crawford, who has 30 years of restaurant industry experience, is no stranger to Rick Erwin Dining Group, having served as Executive Sous Chef of Rick Erwin’s Eastside.

The Food

From weeknight dinner (Tuesday-Saturday) to Sunday brunch, The Vista will offer a variety of options. Expect starters like deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, and crispy calamari (starting at ~$8) and entrees like rotisserie chicken, seared tuna, and pasta dishes — and of course, the Company Crab Cakes (mid-teens to ~$30).

The Space

Anticipate some decor changes from what was once The Burrow, including a map of the Augusta Road area on the wall. When it comes to The Vista, Owner and Chief Financial Officer for Rick Erwin Dining Group Michael Ivey, says, “You will still get the same level of quality and excellence you’ve come to expect from us, but this is not a fine dining establishment and you won’t see any white tablecloths here.”
