Registration is now open for 2020 Swim Lessons at the YMCA of Greenville

Swimming is a life skill. Yet ~64% of African-American children, ~45% of Hispanic children and ~40% of Caucasian children have no or low swimming ability, putting them at risk for drowning.

As the spring and summer months approach (and the countdown begins to weekends on Lake Keowee), teaching your children to swim is something to strongly consider.

Luckily, the YMCA of Greenville offers affordable, non-competitive swim lessons for every age. Sessions range from mini-sessions to 8-week sessions to private lessons, with several sessions happening all year long.

Here are a few of their offerings:

  • Parent & Child Lessons: Water Discovery (6-18 months), Water Exploration (18-36 months)
  • Pre-School Swim Lessons (ages 3-5): Water Acclimation, Water Movement, Water Stamina, Stroke Introduction
  • Youth Swim Lessons (ages 6-14): Water Acclimation & Movement, Water Stamina & Stroke Introduction, Stroke Development, Stroke Mechanics
  • Adult Classes: Swim Basics (first timers), Swim Strokes (improve techniques)
  • Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons: Available by appointment with the purchase of a private swim lesson package
