The City of Greenville will kick off its *free* Downtown Event Series on March 15 + 16 at NOMA Square with Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive presented by Clemson MBA and Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays presented by Pepsi.

This year’s Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive presented by Clemson MBA season includes 23 new bands, 14 from the Upstate. This series is Metropolitan Arts Council‘s biggest fundraiser.

Greenville Heritage Main Street Fridays presented by Pepsi will start out the season with music from local favorite band, Hot as a Pepper. Bonus: It’s kid-friendly. Check out LGCY Power-Sunrun Kids’ Area with inflatables and fun-filled activities for children.

New this year: Beats and Bites, featuring rotating food trucks on the first Thursday of every month.

Back again: Gimme the Gig contest, where local bands can submit links to their music online + fans can vote for their favorite band. The winning band will play at the series on August 30 and get some studio time at Sit-n-Spin Recording Studios. Look out for more details before the contest’s start date in May.
