Saskatoon’s huge $2.5 million project

After 23 years at its current location, Saskatoon (known for its game meat dishes) plans to move to a new nine-acre development at the corner of Halton and Haywood roads. The space will include:

  • A 7,500 square foot restaurant
  • A kitchen size triple of the current building
  • An indoor/outdoor event center
  • Water features
  • Space for corporate events and weddings

The new restaurant space will look just like the current interior: very rustic, like a mountain lodge but on a bigger scale (think: taxidermy). With the new space large enough for storing + aging, they will start sourcing local beef and pork. Plus, they’ll begin sourcing all produce from local farms.

Edmund Woo, Upstate restaurateur and owner of Saskatoon, has been considering this move in order to better accommodate events and chef-prepared paleo meals (up to 3,000 pre-packaged paleo weight loss meals each week).

The development is expected to be complete by late 2017; the event center will be open for private events, corporate events, and weddings, with bookings starting in early 2018.
