As special counsel Robert Mueller continues his investigation into possible Russian influence on the 2016 election, S.C. representatives (and all individuals under investigation) are encouraged to cooperate.
Mueller’s investigation has led indictment of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates for working with pro-Russian organizations. The two men pleaded not guilty and were placed on house arrest.
Senator Graham co-sponsored a bill to shield Mueller from Trump (who fired former FBI director, James Comey earlier this year). However, Graham said Monday he doesn’t think the President will fire Mueller and sees no urgency in passing the law.
While Rep. Trey Gowdy didn’t comment on the indictments themselves, he encouraged Republicans to “give the guy a chance to do his job.”
