Rise and shine, GVL. Welcome to our latest installment of Invest Local, a series in which we’re shining a light on ways Greenvillians can invest their time, talent, and treasure — locally.

Today, we’re taking a look at upcoming improvements to Oconee National Disc Golf Complex that double as a new investment opportunity.

The goal

Located across Lake Hartwell from Clemson University, Oconee National Disc Golf Complex is a low-impact sports facility with plans to offer multiple amenities for both single-day and multi-day customers.

Fun fact: Interest and investment have grown for both professionals and hobbyists over the past decade. The number of courses has tripled with over 1,500 locations added in 2022 alone.

With the combination of recreational access + facilities, the goal is to offer the best of professional disc golf with the ubiquitous demand for pickleball. Plans for a food court and RV park will tie the whole complex together, inviting visitors to stay, play, eat, and drink as they soak in the natural beauty of the Upstate.

The project includes plans to develop:

  • 30+ slip RV park on-site with the goal of year-round revenue generation
  • Three high level disc golf courses: one world-class championship + two world-class recreational
  • 16-court pickleball complex with covered courts for all-weather play
  • A food truck park, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and a stage for concerts and other events
  • An on-site pro shop and one-of-a-kind driving range with experienced management

The opportunity

In the midst of growth in the Upstate, many locals are relegated to being spectators. Vicinity enables you to be a financial participant in our area’s growth and help bring these communities to life.

Plus, Oconee National’s course is already on the Pro Tour Qualifying Series, with ambitions of a Pro Tour Event in 2025.
