Pizzeria Fiamma coming soon to Greenville, SC

Table of Contents

On the heels of the opening of District 356 is a new Italian pizzeria coming soon to the entertainment district: Pizzeria Fiamma. Opening in early 2023, the new restaurant (at the corner of Field Street and Augusta Street) will serve authentic Italian eats + drinks seven days a week.

Here’s what you can expect:

The food

Pizzeria Fiamma will offer a variety of dishes, drinks, and desserts, like:

  • Authentic, Neapolitan pizzas, made in a custom wood-fired Acunto Napoli Ovens by Fiero Group (the oldest oven maker in Naples, Italy) with ingredients — like cheeses + flour — sourced directly from Italy.
  • Homemade pastas
  • Salads + Italian desserts
  • Drinks, including Italian-style cocktails, Italian beers, wine, and espresso.

The space

Located on the ground level of the future .408 Jackson apartment complex, the restaurant’s modern interior — featuring ~80 seats — is inspired by Italy (think: marble-topped tables).

The exterior will feature an ~80-seat patio + inside-outside bar — perfect for whether you’re passing through District 356, heading into, or coming out of a Greenville Drive game. Margherita pizza al fresco, anyone?

The name behind the flame

Pizzeria Fiamma (meaning “flame” in Italian) is rooted in family. Gregg Fiametta, Mike Baldassarra, Genine Baldassara, and family moved to Greenville seven years ago. Originally from New York, Gregg’s culinary expertise, from pizza to fine Italian dining, has taken him across the east coast. He’s the former chef of Italian restaurant Anthony’s Runway 84 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

As you dream of Pizzeria Fiamma, visit the team’s newest restaurant, The Slice in Simpsonville (134 S. Main St., Simpsonville), which opened this summer. Enjoy authentic New York Style pizzas, The Pasta Addict pastas, and a preview of what to expect from Greenville’s newest flame.
