For sale: Main and Broad parking lot at “epicenter” of downtown Greenville

In September 2023, we told you the parking lot at the intersection of Main and Broad streets downtown was officially for sale. According to The Post and Courier Greenville, the ~$19 million lot is back off the market.
No sale price on the lot was listed, but the broker said they received offers above the minimum asking price of $19.6 million. Ultimately the Sawyer + McElveen families — owners of the lot — decided it wasn’t the right time to sell.
According to deeds for the land, the Sawyer + McElveen families registered their LLCs at this address. Author Tammy Conits, restaurateur Carl Sobocinski, and Greenville business-woman Vivian Wong, also own portions of the lot.
In the image above, only the grey area totaling 1.038 AC was for sale.

Don’t hold your applause. Chef Michael Sibert of White Wine and Butter was named a 2024 South Carolina Chef Ambassador. Now in its tenth year, the program helps promote SC as a “tourism destination” for those who want an “authentic culinary experience.”
