New life for two old mills

Woodside Mill

The Greenville City Council voted ‘yes’ at a final reading of two land annex ordinances on Monday: 3 acres of Plush Mill on Easley Bridge Road + about 17 acres of the Woodside Mill property. Plans for Woodside Mill (after it is rezoned for mixed-use development) include 300 rental units, office and retail space + room for a brewery, restaurant, or venue.

The Plush Mill is ready for renovations now. According to plans, the space will be developed into an indoor self-storage, cafe/restaurant + event venue.
Bonus for developers: There is incentive behind developing these mills. The city can apply for the textile mill tax credit, which means property taxes will remain the same as they were before renovations + the tax value will remain the same for 20 years.
