New housing project for the homeless

Opportunity Village is the Dream Center’s newest housing project in Pickens County is made up entirely of tiny homes (23 of them) each with 168 sq. ft. of space.

Leaders of the project say this is no ordinary shelter program. Residents will have to work for their stay and prove that they are on a path to change and success.

The Dream Center has devised a three step program that will require residents to take steps such as: attending classes (to attain their GED), regular doctor visits, and counseling. The residents who complete these steps will have the opportunity to move into larger phase 2 and phase 3 homes, at which time they will be independent and employed.
