NCAA to NC: Revoke Bathroom Bill or else

The NCAA gave North Carolina a deadline to change its HB2 law restricting transgender bathroom access (which has sparked boycotts from corporations, conventions, and concerts). If it does not change, the state will be banned from hosting college sports championship events through 2022.

The NCAA said in a statement last week that it will soon be deciding on championship site selections for 2018-2022, which led to the time limit for NC.

NC is home to major athletic schools like University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and Duke University, but is also the only state that bans transgender people from using (government-run) restrooms that match gender identities.

What this means for South Carolina? Well, we already saw it this month during the NCAA March Madness games.
