We often have readers reach out asking where they can hear live music. Everyone knows about the Peace Center + Bon Secours Wellness Arena, but we wanted to highlight some smaller local places where you can also get a night of good tunes.

The Radio Room

The Radio Room, 110 Poinsett Hwy.

The Radio Room was started with the goal of creating a space where local + regional bands could play in a judgement free, relaxed environment. This dive bar and music venue features 15-20 shows a month – plus Monday night trivia + Tuesday night karaoke.

  • What You’ll Hear: Punk rock, hardcore + folk

Gottrocks, 200 Eisenhower Dr.

When it comes to locally sourced food, Gottrocks has everything from wings to burgers. They also have an ample selection of craft brews + wine.

  • What You’ll Hear: Rock, Americana, funk + bluegrass

Blues Boulevard Jazz, 300 River St. #203

A premiere jazz + blues venue with live acts (local + national) every Thurs.-Sat. This is not your grandfather’s jazz.

Smiley’s Acoustic Café, 111 Augusta St.

Smiley’s Acoustic Cafe is best known for never having a cover charge. Enjoy daily happy hour specials + offerings like soup and wings.

  • What You’ll Hear: Folk, rock, R&B + live-band karaoke

Red@28th, 1237 Pendleton St.

This Charlotte-based lounge has a new location in the Village of West Greenville. The cozy space features a full bar, food, hookahs, games + more – Red@28th is a relaxed space featuring weekly entertainment.

  • What You’ll Hear: Regional musicians, DJs, spoken word performances + more

Southern Culture Kitchen + Bar, 2537 North Pleasantburg Dr.

Enjoy live music ~3 times a week along with weekly specials.

  • What You’ll Hear: Bluegrass, rock + pop

Rainer’s Café + Bar, 610 South Main St.

This more intimate 45-seat venue aims to offer a place of calm from the stress of the day. They do serve food – with a menu featuring sandwiches, quesadillas + appetizers.

  • What You’ll Hear: Jazz, country, R&B + rock

Swansons Warehouse, 12 N. Irvine St.

Swansons Warehouse started with “10 local guys throwing parties in a basement” + has since become one of Greenville’s hidden-gems for live music. Some events are member only.

  • What You’ll Hear: Regional musicians, funk, folk, rock + more

Carolina Music Museum, 516 Buncombe St.

The Carolina Music Museum holds concerts three to four times a month. You can view their upcoming events at the link here.
