Mac’s Smith Country Store has been nestled outside Pendleton for 70 years + they have mastered the classics and taken it to another level (just look at this Bird Dog covered in cheese).

The owner (Mac Smith himself) started working in the store as a teen + has now been in charge for 22 years, making the perfect burgers with only local beef. He’s also known for his secret-family-recipe pork sausage, a tradition passed down from his father. The Country Store has three generations of history, and you’ll feel the Southern Hospitality vibes when you walk through the door.

If you decide to drive down (the store is ~15 min. from Clemson University) here are a few classic items we *highly* suggest:

🍔 Wild West Burger with onion rings + BBQ sauce

🍔 Sharp Shooter sandwich (bacon, turkey, honey mustard + cheddar)

🍔 Flaming Burger with spicy mayo + jalapeños.
