Spring is in full swing, and it’s officially “Moms, Dads + Grads Season” – a.k.a. the time of year to celebrate Mother’s Day (May 12), Father’s Day (June 16) and high school + college graduations (happening now through June).

With all of those celebrations comes lots of gifts. This year, consider giving a book – something to open up their worlds even more (and last longer than flowers).

M. Judson has picked out book suggestions for everyone on your list, each available at their book store on Main Street. 📚

🎓 Grads:

  • The Art of The Wasted Day, by Patricia Hampl // For the hard worker who’s just crossed the finish line, this book offers an armchair travelogue of ways we take a break and let our imaginations go.
  • Digital Minimalism, by Cal Newport // If you wonder how the time disappears so quickly (with your iPhone attached to your right hand), this book can show you the light. Good for anybody looking to be more productive in a tech-saturated world.
  • Art Matters, by Neil Gaiman // A creative call-to-arms that should be required reading for everybody headed out to make their way in the world. Art matters, reading matters, and your imagination can change the world.
  • How To Cook Without A Book: Recipes and Techniques Every Cook Should Know By Heart, by Pam Anderson // Not on the dining plan anymore? This book might save your life.

Dreyer’s English, by Benjamin Dreyer // Ultimate guide to utterly correct writing style, brought to you by the Copy Chief at Random House.

👩‍👦 Moms:

  • If You Ask Me, by Eleanor Roosevelt // Practical, witty, and wise, this book is compiled from Eleanor Roosevelt’s advice column in Ladies Home Journal. As smart now as it was then.
  • The Women’s Atlas, by Joni Seager // A very important book of very interesting maps and infographics about women and their collective condition around the globe.

👨‍👧 Dads:

  • The Tao of Bill Murray, by Gavin Edwards // When confronted by life’s challenges and opportunities, maybe we should all be asking ourselves, “What would Bill Murray do?”
  • The Campout Cookbook, by Marnie Hanel and Jen Stevenson // 100+ recipes for what to eat, what to drink (and how to pack it) when you get to spend an evening under the stars.

🕊 Newlyweds:

  • The Newlywed Table, by Maria Zizka // A beautiful keepsake cookbook for starting your kitchen together.
