Greenville, you had us at hello. 💌 It’s no secret that we’re majorly in love with our city, but we asked on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter + in our newsletter what you’d write in a love letter to GVL.

Here are a few things we’d include…

  • Heather: being able to go on runs with my pup in our city’s public parks, alllll the amazing brunch spots to sip a mimosa on the weekend (The Anchorage is my fave), and that our downtown is lined with beautiful trees. Thanks, Max Heller.
  • Kendall: that Main St. is so walkable with plenty of coffee shops + stores to explore on a sunny day, our vibrant arts culture and events like Open Studios and workshops at GCCA, and independent bookstores like M. Judson and Joe’s Place.

… and what *you* would add.

  • “We are so dog friendly ❤️❤️” – @kavenatsixpencesalonandspa
  • “Love sitting on the Larkin’s terrace for lunch in the summer, watching the water wall, river and people. Cap that off will a stroll to and through the park. Wonderful!” – Pattiann S.
  • “Gotta include the [Prisma] Swamp Rabbit Trail and all of Cleveland/Falls Park.” – @scjoniguy
  • “I love the public spaces! You can pick a bench anywhere in Greenville and sit a while and be charmed by the beautiful landscaping, friendly people walking by, public art and local smells and sounds. Any given day walking downtown you can find a street performer, an open gallery or just a quaint and quiet space to find peace without feeling secluded.” – Zoe W.
  • “Moved to GV from PA after college and met my now wife there. Married at Wyche Pavilion this past June 😃” – @toddfidler
  • “Among many things, I love that it’s an all ages equal opportunity for fun town. That’s a mouthful! I love that when I’m out I’m with people of several generations. In restaurants, bars, breweries...everyone welcome.” – Erin H.
  • “So many activities! 🙌” – @gvlcondos
  • “The ambiance of a small town with the (some) of the perks of a big town.” – Joaqium C.
  • “I love our beautiful shaded Main Street with outdoor dining, so pretty and inviting.” – Kathy K.
  • “The downtown and all that goes with it: the waterfall and bridge at Falls Park. Now the cancer survivor park and how you can walk from one park to the other. I love the [Prisma] Swamp Rabbit Trail to TR for a fun activity. I love all the outdoor bars and restaurants (Up, Pomegranite on Wednesday’s with live music, Jianna on a pretty day with doors open, nose dive with the doors open on a Saturday morning while the Saturday Market is happening, yee haw brewery with corn hole in the parking lot, passrelle, just to name a few), the Kroc Center, the artists down by the river, all the festivals (Artisphere, Euphoria, Fall for Gvlle , etc), the ice skating in winter, the concerts in summer, the peace center..... the list goes on and on!!!!” – Shannon C.
  • “Gotta love @bridgecitycoffee” – @allik_22
  • “The Greenville Symphony!!!” – Judy E.
  • “SHOPPING!! Especially the crop of awesome, local boutiques open in the N Main/Stone Ave Area! PSquared, We Took to the Woods, Paula Rallis Home, Cache and Co, the market at Two Chefs and, ahem, Blossom. The fabulous shoe store in the center of it all. Also- the food, the people and the parks. Plus we have really awesome schools.” – Kimberly S.

  • “Love relaxing in coffee underground and walking around the park” – @mereditholliday
  • “My very favorite thing about Greenville is its vibrancy. New life is being breathed into old buildings all the time, residents flock to the city’s parks when the sun shines, and cultural events of all kinds are going on every week of the year. The pulse of the city indicates that it’s headed in a good direction and residents and visitors alike seem excited about their encounters with the city.” – Garrett B.
  • “We moved here from Texas a year ago and LOVE so much about GVL! Amazing downtown - restaurants, breweries - we think the [Prisma] Swamp Rabbit Trail is great and all the hiking opportunities - AND the weather (besides all this rain) is so much better than what we were used to in Texas you can actually get outside in the Summer without feeling like you are suffocating.” – Lezlie S.
