This past Saturday in downtown Greenville, groups rallied peacefully to demonstrate their thoughts in favor of or against removing a Confederate monument at Springwood Cemetery. Members of the group Fighting Injustice Together, along with other community members, started the protest around 1 p.m.

Confederate monument supporters gathered nearby, but Greenville Police officers say it began and ended peacefully.

Organizers of the rally plan to speak to Greenville City, County, government and state officials about removing the monument.
